Mazda introduced the first electric car at the Tokyo Motor Show.
The MX-30 features a number of leading technologies including:
Featuring a single electric motor mounted at the front of the vehicle that receives power from a 35.5kW battery, it is said to offer a good electric range of up to 200 km per charge.
Mazda has not yet determined all the exact details of the transmission range, although it is known that the MX-30 prototypes had 142 hp and 263 Nm. meters of torque from the aforementioned electric motor.
The Mazda MX-30 uses the Mazda e-SkyActiv wheelbase and comes loaded with a range of advanced safety features, for example, the MX-30 has acquired smart brakes (autonomous emergency brakes) with radar and front camera traffic detection.
The MX-30's design with suicide rear doors is very similar to that of the Mazda RX-8, and elsewhere, the design has been clearly inspired by other Mazda cars such as the CX-30 of the same size.
The MX-30 features a dual steering wheel, a touch-screen entertainment system at the top of the dashboard, and a secondary touch screen used to power climate control functions.
